CLASS DESCRIPTIONS & ATTIRE 

Students are expected to follow our dress code. It is imperative all students come to class prepared.

Please put your child’s name on the inside of all shoes and attire.

Hair should be up and away from face and neck.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS & REQUIRED ATTIRE:

MINIS IN MOTION (2 1/2 Years):

This is a 30 minute class that introduces movement to our mini dancers. Using many different exciting dance activities and creative props, the young dancer will begin to develop balance, coordination and strength. Through creative imagery and movement, a pre-ballet foundation begins. Fine and gross motor skills will soon develop in this energetic class! The class will also teach the value of taking turns and working together in preparation for Creative Motion I.

CREATIVE MOTION I (3 Years):

This 45 minute class is the extension of Minis in Motion. Using imagery, song and movement and props, dancers continue to explore motion and pre-ballet in a wonderfully creative way! Confidence will begin to soar as large and fine motor skills develop in a positive, healthy, educational and fun atmosphere.

CREATIVE MOTION II (4 Years):

This 1 hour class is the extension of Creative Motion 1. We continue to develop and strengthen large motor skills while adding some more pre-ballet exercises. Dancers get introduced to the ballet barre as well as pre-tap. Still exploring imagery, song, dance and the use of props, we begin to see confidence soar and movement skills evolve! Both tap and ballet shoes are needed for this class.

BALLET:

Infinite Motion Performing Arts Academy classical ballet program focuses on training students with the correct technique, while learning terminology and musical phrasing. We encourage each dancer to work from their own natural facility while developing correct alignment of the body, building strength and flexibility giving both the beginner and pre-professional dancer a strong foundation in classical ballet.

Youth

CONTEMPORARY:

Infinite Motion’s Contemporary style is lyrical based with modern elements. Contemporary movement is faster than ballet but slower than jazz. Dancers learn to interpret music and lyrics and begin communicating emotion through motion. It is highly encouraged that dancers studying contemporary also enroll in a ballet class.

HIP HOP:

Hip Hop is becoming one of the most popular forms of dance. While using age appropriate music, dancers begin to learn the urban cultural style that provides a funkier edge to the basic styles of this genre.

JAZZ:

From contemporary techniques to traditional styles, students will learn floor combinations, leaps and floor progressions. While using the latest age appropriate music, dancers will begin to develop style and flare that Jazz is so popularly known for. We encourage students to add ballet to their curriculum while studying Jazz as it will enhance their Jazz training.

SING THE TOP 40!:

Come and sing your favorite top 40 hits and more!  A fun class designed for students who want to learn how to sing like the stars, both solo and as a group.  Learn microphone technique, stage presence and how to work with background vocals.

TAP:

From Broadway to Hoofing, students create and re-define the rhythm of tap dancing. Emphasis on rhythm and coordination will be taught through basic steps, interesting and level appropriate combinations. Students will begin to develop a sense of musicality as well as learn the fundamentals of executing specific tap steps and sounds.

THEATRE DANCE:

Dance to Broadway Hits!! Theatre Dance is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.

TAP YOUR BOOTIE OFF:

An exhilarating workout! Wear your favorite tap shoes or hard soled shoes and hoof along to upbeat routines and awesome music. Music styles range from top 40, swing, oldies and show tunes. Join us for “special edition” classes featuring specific decades of music!

Each class will consist of tap routines with basic steps that repeat. Good for beginners through advanced tap dancers. The routines are choreographed to the rhythm of the music. Combinations start off slow, increasing to a faster beat causing your heart-rate to accelerate, concluding with a cool down. Class is 1 hour and you leave feeling refreshed!

Wear workout clothes, tap shoes or sneakers with a smooth bottom.

TRIPLE THREAT TRAINING:

Get ready to hit the stage! This program is a collaboration of voice, theatre dance, and the fundamentals of acting. Students will learn proper vocal technique for singing and acting, dance to their favorite Broadway hits, as well as hone their performance skills by connecting with the audience and storytelling.

This class goes beyond a standalone acting or dance class by incorporating theatre etiquette, mock auditions, and working with original material!
