Kim Maskal

KIMBERLY has had a life-long passion for ballet and began dancing at the age of four. She studied at Garden State Ballet, under the direction of Jody Jaron, whose credits include the Broadway production of A Chorus Line, and tutelage at both San Francisco Ballet School and the School of American Ballet. At Garden State Ballet, Kim entered the Youth Company at age seven, and began performing annually in the company’s Nutcracker. She danced both corps de ballet roles in addition to lead roles, including Marzipan, Snow lead, Dew Drop, and Sugar Plum. With the Youth Company, Kim also performed at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJPAC with American Repertory Ballet, and at various schools and public venues throughout NJ.

Kim later branched out to study other styles of dance including modern, jazz, tap, theatre, and basic ballroom styles. She studied theatre at Bergen Country Academies, Academy for Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA), and she also danced in the productions of Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, Pippin, and Urinetown. Kim then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Arts Management and minor in Dance from Indiana University. Kim has taught at various summer programs including Newark Symphony Hall’s Summer Performing Arts Academy, Indiana University’s Pre College Ballet Program, and has substituted at several studios in New Jersey. She also interned with ABT, taught and choreographed for their Make A Ballet Program, and was a counselor multiple years for both their New York and California Summer Intensives. Kim currently manages at Capezio, Ballet Makers, and is very excited to be joining the team at IMPAA!
